Political Parties Gear Up for Final Two Phases of Lok Sabha Elections in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh : With only two phases remaining in the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, political parties are intensifying their campaigns across 27 constituencies slated for polling on May 25 and June 1.

The last two phases include significant constituencies such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s parliamentary seat Varanasi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s home district Gorakhpur, and Azamgarh, considered a stronghold of the Samajwadi Party.

In addition to the NDA and the opposition alliance INDIA bloc, the Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party is also mobilizing its full strength to secure victory in these crucial seats.

The sixth phase will see elections in 14 constituencies, including Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Phulpur, and Allahabad. Meanwhile, the seventh phase will cover seats like Gorakhpur, Varanasi, and Mirzapur. Political parties have limited time left for campaigning, with the sixth phase concluding on May 23 and the seventh phase on May 30.

Out of these 27 seats, the BJP had won 18 seats in the 2019 elections, with Apna Dal, an NDA ally, securing two seats. The BSP, which had contested in alliance with the SP, won six seats. However, this time BSP is contesting alone.

Key leaders from all parties, including PM Modi, CM Adityanath, SP President Akhilesh Yadav, and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, are actively campaigning in the region. Today, PM Modi is scheduled to address rallies in Prayagraj and Varanasi, while CM Adityanath will hold six meetings in Purvanchal. Akhilesh Yadav will focus on campaigning in his stronghold of Azamgarh.

The political landscape is heating up as parties strive to secure victory in these crucial remaining phases of the Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha elections.
