Varanasi, August 26 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the unifying power of culture and underscored the significance of the work undertaken by G20 culture ministers for humanity as he addressed delegates at the G20 Culture Ministers’ Meeting in Varanasi. He described Varanasi as a repository of spirituality, knowledge, and truth.
In a recorded video message, Prime Minister Modi highlighted that culture possesses an inherent capacity to bring people together and stressed the global importance of the ministers’ efforts within the G20 framework.
Furthermore, he mentioned the Prime Ministers’ Museum in Delhi, which showcases India’s rich democratic heritage. Modi asserted that heritage is a valuable asset contributing to economic growth and diversification, aligning with India’s mantra of ‘Virasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi’ (Heritage and Development).
The prime minister also underlined India’s commitment to using technology to better preserve its cultural heritage.
In the nearly nine-minute video, Prime Minister Modi extended his greetings to the ministers and delegates gathered for the event. Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency, hosted the fourth and final meeting of the G20 Culture Working Group (CWG) from August 24th to 25th.
