Heightened Security Measures Implemented in Srinagar Ahead of PM Modi’s June 21 Visit

Srinagar, June 13: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit for International Yoga Day on June 21, extensive security measures have been implemented across Srinagar city in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Elaborate security arrangements are being finalized for the VVIP visit to ensure seamless security and smooth movement of participants attending the event on June 21,” stated an official.

The Prime Minister is set to mark the 10th International Yoga Day at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Complex (SKICC), situated by the scenic Dal Lake in Srinagar.

“Preparations include venue sanitization, securing the Prime Minister’s route, and all other associated logistics are being meticulously coordinated,” the official added.

A Special Protection Group (SPG) team responsible for the PM’s personal security is anticipated to arrive two days prior to Modi’s visit to synchronize security operations with local authorities.

Officials noted that approximately 6,000 individuals, including prominent athletes, are expected to join PM Modi for the International Yoga Day celebrations.
