Basti (Uttar Pradesh), May 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a dig at Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, mocking their claim of winning 79 seats in Uttar Pradesh. He quipped that on June 4, the people of UP would jolt them from their illusions.
“Both the ‘Shehzadas’ of Congress and SP are spreading rumors that they will win 79 seats in UP. Earlier, I used to hear about people daydreaming, but now I understand what it means. On June 4, the people of UP will wake them up, and then they will blame the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM),” PM Modi remarked during a public gathering in Basti, Uttar Pradesh.
PM Modi also criticized Congress and Samajwadi Party for their statement, ‘Pakistan has an atom bomb,’ accusing them of fear-mongering. He asserted that India, under the Modi government, does not cower before Pakistan.
“Pakistan has been defeated, but its sympathizers like SP and Congress are busy scaring India. They say we should fear Pakistan because it has the atomic bomb. Why should India fear? Today, India has a strong Modi government, ‘Bharat Aaj Ghar me Ghuskar Maarta hai’,” he emphasized.
Encouraging people to vote in large numbers, PM Modi highlighted the significance of exercising one’s voting rights. He underlined the virtues of voting and the benefits it brings, especially in the context of the government’s welfare schemes.
Reflecting on the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi pointed out the contradictions within the INDIA Alliance, suggesting their lack of coherence and consistency in their statements.
He also criticized the opposition’s stance on the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, highlighting their alleged opposition to Ram and the temple. PM Modi asserted that the country’s wait for the Ram Mandir had lasted 500 years.
Furthermore, PM Modi emphasized India’s economic progress, noting its ascent to becoming the fifth-largest economy globally. He highlighted India’s enhanced stature and influence on the global stage under his government’s leadership.
