Ahead of the May 25 voting for Lok Sabha elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of hatching a new conspiracy to disrupt the lives of Delhi residents by manipulating the water supply. On Wednesday, Delhi Minister and AAP leader Atishi elaborated on the allegations, claiming that the BJP, through its Haryana government, has deliberately stopped the water flow to Delhi, aiming to create a crisis in the national capital just before the crucial elections.
“Under this conspiracy, the BJP, via its Haryana government, has halted the water flow to Delhi. This action is intended to disturb the people of Delhi and create a water crisis here. The supply of Yamuna water to Delhi is being obstructed,” Atishi stated. An investigation, she said, revealed that the Haryana government is responsible for stopping the Yamuna water flow to Delhi.
Atishi urged Delhi residents to remain vigilant and not fall for what she described as the BJP’s conspiracy. She expressed confidence that the people of Delhi would not be deceived and predicted that the INDI Alliance would secure all seven Lok Sabha seats in the national capital.
“I want to alert the people of Delhi – don’t get lured into the BJP’s conspiracy. I also want to tell the BJP that you can’t fool the people of Delhi; they are going to give all seven seats to the INDI Alliance this time,” she asserted.
Furthermore, Atishi mentioned that the Delhi government plans to take immediate action by writing a letter to the BJP-led Haryana government regarding the water stoppage. She also indicated that if no action is taken in response to the letter, the Delhi government would not hesitate to move the Supreme Court.
“We will immediately write to the Haryana Government. If needed, we will also file an urgent application before the court. If no action is taken on our letter to the Haryana Government, we will approach the Supreme Court if necessary,” she added.
