Jaipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly criticized the Congress government in Rajasthan during a rally in Bharatpur, accusing the party of catapulting the state to the forefront in terms of crime and riots through its policy of appeasement, allowing anti-social elements to roam freely. Modi took a jibe at Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, stating that the people have decided not to support the “jadugar” (magician), and predicted that Congress would fade away from the state after the elections.
The assembly polls in Rajasthan are scheduled for November 25, with the counting of votes set for December 3. Modi highlighted the contrast between India’s global leadership and the state’s situation over the past five years, alleging that Congress has made Rajasthan a leader in corruption, riots, and crimes.
Accusing Congress of providing a free rein to criminal elements due to its policy of appeasement, Modi asserted that wherever the party governs, terrorists, criminals, and rioters are set loose. He emphasized Congress’s commitment to appeasement, even at the cost of jeopardizing lives.
Modi underscored that under Congress’s five-year rule, Rajasthan witnessed a surge in crimes against women and Dalits. He pointed out that festivals like Holi, Ram Navami, or Hanuman Jayanti couldn’t be celebrated peacefully due to ongoing riots, stone pelting, and curfews in the state.
Furthermore, Modi criticized Chief Minister Gehlot, stating that he has shattered the confidence of women in Rajasthan by dismissing their concerns and claiming that women file fake rape cases. Modi questioned Gehlot’s ability to protect women, challenging whether such a Chief Minister has the right to remain in office even for a minute.
