Rajasthan : Critiquing the Congress government in the state for widespread corruption, Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused the Gehlot administration of turning the entire state of Rajasthan into an ATM for the Congress Party.
“Whenever the Congress party needs money, leaders from Delhi come to Rajasthan and leave with the funds after swiping their cards,” Shah declared at a BJP poll rally in Vijaynagar, Ajmer district.
Highlighting the corruption rate under the previous government after independence in the state, Shah asserted, “The Congress government’s primary focus in the last five years has been corruption, and only corruption. The scale of corruption under the Gehlot government surpasses that of any previous administration.” Referring to the controversial ‘Red Diary’ exposed by expelled Congress Minister Rajendra Gudha, Shah remarked that some youth at the gathering were wearing red-colored sweaters and jerseys. He jokingly advised them not to attend Gehlot Saheb’s meeting, stating that Gehlot runs after anything red.
Shah addressed the rising crime rate and deteriorating law and order situation, blaming the Gehlot government for crossing limits in vote bank politics. He cited instances such as the beheading of Kanhaiyalal, the demolition of a 300-year-old Shiva temple in Alwar, the destruction of Ram Darbar in Salasar, and a saint’s suicide against illegal mining. Shah warned that if the Congress government comes to power in Rajasthan, organizations like PFI will have a free hand.
Regarding dynasty rule in post-independence India, Shah criticized the Congress as a family-based party, stating that Ashok Gehlot wants to launch Vaibhav Gehlot, Sonia Gandhi wants to launch Rahul Gandhi, and he reminded Congress that their launching pad has been spoiled.
The Home Minister also enumerated various scams and corruption in state departments, including Mines and job recruitments. Shah concluded the day with a roadshow in an open vehicle alongside contesting candidates in Ajmer district’s Dargah City.
