Jaipur, Nov 16 – Rahul Gandhi, a Congress leader, declared on Thursday that if the BJP comes to power in Rajasthan, it will cease the welfare schemes implemented by the Congress government, favoring billionaires instead. Speaking at a public meeting in Taranagar, Churu district, in support of party candidate Narendra Budhania, Gandhi asserted that the BJP government, if formed, would terminate schemes such as the old pension scheme, health insurance, subsidized cylinders, and the Rs 10,000 annual assistance for women, redirecting support towards billionaires.
Conversely, Gandhi highlighted that if the Congress regains power in the state, it would prioritize the welfare of the poor, farmers, and small traders. He pledged the waiver of farmers’ loans and support for small traders. Gandhi urged the audience to decide between an “Adani’s government” or a government representing the interests of farmers, laborers, and youth.
Taking a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gandhi questioned the concept of “guarantees,” stating that Modi’s guarantee is for Adani, while Congress guarantees a government for farmers, laborers, and youth. He accused the BJP of directing money into Adani’s pockets, contrasting it with the Congress, which, he claimed, transfers funds into the pockets of the poor and farmers.
Gandhi further alleged that the BJP assists Adani in acquiring foreign companies, while the Congress prioritizes transferring money to the pockets of farmers.
