‘Rozgar Do’ campaign begins on the foundation day of the Indian Youth Congress

New Delhi, 9 August: Today at the foundation day of the Indian Youth Congress, the largest youth organization in the world, the National President of the Youth Congress Srinivas B.V. unfurled the flag at the headquarters of the IYC in New Delhi on the occasion. On this occasion, he also started the ‘Rozgar Do’ campaign for the youth. Addressing the activists and office bearers, Srinivas B.V. said, “The Indian Youth Congress, since its inception, has always stood up for the youth. Today, the Youth Congress has got the support of lakhs of youth, behind which the biggest contribution is of the tireless hard work of our workers and the visionary thinking of the top leadership of the Congress Party. We understand the pain and issues of the youth. It is our resolve to raise the voice of the youth from village to city, block to district, state and national level through the ‘Rozgar Do’ campaign.”

On the occasion of the foundation day, the former President of the Indian National Congress, Shri Rahul Gandhi congratulated the volunteers and lent his support to the ‘Rozgar Do’ campaign. Rahul Gandhi ji released a video saying, “When Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister, he promised the youth of the country to provide two crore jobs every year, gave a big dream, while the truth is that Narendra Modi’s poor economic policies left 14 crore people unemployed. Why did this happen? Demonetisation, wrong GST and then lockdown are the three steps which destroyed the economic structure of India. And now the truth is that India cannot provide employment to its youth, that’s why the Youth Congress is hitting the streets and I am very happy that the Youth Congress will raise this issue on the streets and in every town. Youth Congress is going to take up this issue with full force and all of you should join the ‘Rozgar Do’ campaign and together with the Youth Congress, provide employment to all the youth of the country. Finally, I want to congratulate the Youth Congress, on it’s foundation day for this fight for the youth of India.”

The ‘Rozgar Do’ campaign of the Youth Congress has been receiving huge public support since the beginning itself. Youth, women and intellectuals are continuously supporting the ‘Rozgar Do’ campaign on social media. Srinivas B.V. said, “Today unemployment is the biggest issue in the country, there is no employment on the ground and this campaign is being carried out to explain this reality to the Central Government. On the social media today, the way millions of youth of the country expressed their love and support, it is expected that the youth unemployed due to demonetisation, wrong GST and then the lockdown will also soon join the movement and raise their voices against the government.

The ‘Rozgar Do’ campaign has been in the top trend on Twitter globally since morning and with more awareness, the campaign is expected to get more and more public support. The long-term ‘Rozgar Do’ campaign will oppose the Central government through block, district, state and national levels through satyagraha, dharna demonstration and human chains of unemployed youth.”

Youth Congress’s ‘Rozgar Do’ campaign highlights the following demands related to youth unemployment: –

Vacant posts of various government departments should be filled immediately.

Privatization of railways and other government institutions should stop immediately.

In the Corona period, unemployed youth should get financial help.

Government should stop abolishing posts in government departments.

Government should quickly work on the recruitments stuck in court cases.

Thus, the ‘Rozgar Do’ campaign is an attempt to awaken the BJP government from it’s deep slumber and indifference towards the most important issue of the country so that the government will formulate a plan and program for employment generation.
