In a Joint statement Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Coordination Committee and All India Manahas MahaSabha has welcomed the decision of Hon’ble Lt. Governor Union territory of J&K, and Administration for accord necessary approval for Installation of Statue of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. While speaking on the Comrade Sukhdev Singh Said we are thankful to S. Inder Singh Jee, Hon’ble Corporator and all other Councillors for supporting the issue in the General House meeting of Jammu Municipal Corporators.
As per the release Comrade, Sukhdev Singh and Thakur Harnam Singh Manhas said that the naming of Kunjwani Chowk as ‘Baba Banda Singh Bhadur Chowk’ and Installation of Statue has already been taken since long by the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Coordination Committee led by Comrade Sukhdev Singh, All India Manahas Maha Sabha led by Thakur Harnam Singh Manahas and Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Foundation. After recommendation from different quarters, the case was pending with Secretary to Government Housing and Urban development Department J&K . No action had been taken by the former Governments. They said that the All India Manahas Baradari vide D.O letter dated 09.02.2015 and dated 23.07.2016 has also taken the matter to the Government . He said the self styled leaders who are creating hurdles are warned and requested to come together in this issue and also work for communal harmony and development of our UT and Country.

The Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Chowk Coordination Committee also urged the government to issue necessary approval for declaring the name of Kunjwani chowk in the name of great warrior Baba Banda Singh Bahadur
The participants said that after receiving an email, recommendation was made by the ex-Minister on the email of Sonam Wangchuk Shakspo Bakula Foundation Banglore dated 16.10.2014 the name of road leading to Railway Station in Jammu was named as KUSHOK BAKULA within three days but demand of the community was not considered despite the facts that recommendation made on the file by the concerned authorities was not considered.
Now, finally Lt. Governor U.T, Hon’ble Councillors, and administration has accorded sanction for installation of Statue. i Manhas Baradari and Sikhs also want the Kunjwani Chowk to be named as Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Chowk. It is worthwhile to mention it here that the Son of the Soil, Amar Shaheed Baba Banda Singh Bahadur born in Poonch in Manhas Rajput and was baptised by Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Je. He sacrificed his every thing to protect the common man and the Country.
