A total of seven lakh 82 thousand 607 people affected with Coronavirus have recovered so far and with this the recovery rate reached 63.18% in the country.
“29 thousand 557 people recovered in the past 24 hours. This is the highest number of recoveries in one day since the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country”, the Health and Family Welfare Ministry said.
The highest number of 45 thousand 720 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the country within the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 12 lakh 38 thousand 635. At present the total number of active Corona cases in the country is four lakh 26 thousand 167. In one day, one thousand 129 deaths were reported taking the nationwide toll to 29 thousand 861. However, the case fatality rate is decreasing in the country and it has reached 2.41 per cent.
Meanwhile, Indian Council of Medical Research, ICMR said that a total of three lakh 50 thousand 823 tests of Corona virus samples were conducted by the various laboratories in the past 24 hours. So far, laboratories have conducted one crore 50 lakh 75 thousand 369 tests. ICMR is continuously ramping up the testing facilities in the country. At present, a total of one thousand 284 laboratories across India are conducting the tests for COVID-19 including 895 government laboratories and 389 private laboratories’ chains.
AIR correspondent reports say that Delhi is at the top with 85.21 percent in terms of recovery rate followed by Ladakh, Haryana, Telangana and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. In these 5 States and Union Territories, the recovery rate is above 73 per cent. 19 States and Union Territories have better recovery rates than the national average of 63.18 per cent. In terms of number recovered cases of COVID-19, Maharashtra is leading the tally followed by Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Telangana. There are 30 States and Union Territories which have lower fatality rates than the national average of fatality rate 2.41 per cent. In the total active cases, 67.74 per cent cases are from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh respectively.
