Chaitanya Sambyal (EP- Intern)

  1. Identify which type of learner you are: Not everyone can learn in the same manner. There are individual differences. For example, while some students learn better with music playing in the background, others need a calm environment. Some students are comfortable with online courses, but others may prefer textbooks or some study material. So Identify what suits you better and study accordingly.
  2. Prepare a timetable: Don’t try to learn things altogether. Prepare a proper timetable according to the exam date sheet. Divide the topics in a way in which you’ll be able to cover your syllabus and be fully prepared before the deadline.
  3. Clear your desk: cluttered desk is a sign of cluttered mind. Take some time at the end of the day to clear your desk so that you start the next morning with a clear desk and clear mind.
  4. Eat healthy and think better: Nutrition experts say that eating well and sticking to the right foods can actually make a real difference in keeping your brain at peak operation. You can eat dark chocolates. Dark chocolate can help you study as dark chocolate improves Focus, Memory, and Learning. It has a mild effect on increasing blood flow and reducing blood pressure. Eat enough of fruits that contain vitamin C like Guava, kiwi, orange, strawberries, papaya etc. Avoid eating heavy meals in between studies to avoid feeling sleepy.
  5. Loud Reading: loud reading helps retain better. So one must always read out aloud while studying.
  6. Exercise or Meditate: Recent studies show that meditating before you study can improve your reading comprehension, memory, concentration, stress and anxiety. Exercising helps to oxygenate the brain and release tension. It helps you to relax and keep calm.
  7. Practice and Discuss: When you are done studying a certain topic, discuss it with your friends. Ask them for solutions or any doubts. And then keep practising because “Practice makes a man perfect.”
  8. Make notes and flowcharts/ learn through diagrams: Making notes and flowcharts help you grasp things faster than the long theoretical answers. So try learning things with the help of diagrams and flowcharts.
  9. Sleep: You need atleast 6 to 7 hours of sleep. This will allow your brain to fully function the next day. Good sleep is vital for the memory. It’s better to have a good night sleep than to sleep in between the exam.
  10. Last and the most important tip: On exam day, don’t hassle, relax and be confident.
