Ace of Spade Division organised a Capacity Building Tour for 17 Sarpanches incl ESMs of Rajouri & Poonch District of J&K from 18 Jan to 01 Feb 2020. The aim of the tour was to give exposure to the participants to various successful models of development of villages & management of Panchayati Raj System as also to impart a spirit of national integration amongst the participants.
The tour was flagged off on 18 Jan 2020 from Rajouri Town by the Stn Cdr, Brig Rahul Thapliyal. The tour was in Kerala on 21 and 22 Jan 2020 where they visited model village Eraviperoor which has been awarded at the National level for public administration. The tour visited Puducherry from 23 to 28 Jan 2020 where they attended workshops on Panchayati Raj System and participated in various activity of NGO Mission Samriddhi to gain knowledge of aspects of development at village level.
On 25 Jan 2020 the tour members met Honorable Lt Governor of Pondicherry Dr. Kiran Bedi. They also had an interaction on good governance and model villages with other prominent personalities.
The tour reached Delhi on 30 Jan 2020. The tour members visited the National War Memorial and monuments of National importance on 31 Jan 2020. On 01 February 2020, flagging in ceremony of the tour was conducted at ALG Rajouri by Stn Cdr, Brig Rahul Thapliyal. The tour participants were handed over a booklet containing guidelines for planning developmental projects at the village level. All the participants praised the efforts of the Army in giving them exposure to aspects which will help them in improving conditions and taking up development or activities at the grass root level.
