The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati declared that a massive turnout at the rally commemorating the 19th death anniversary of party founder Kanshi Ram has left rival parties in Uttar Pradesh feeling “sleepless and nervous.” The event, held on Friday in Lucknow, attracted an unprecedented number of youth and women, showcasing their unwavering support for the BSP.
Mayawati shared her observations in a post on X, reflecting on the high spirits and determination of attendees, whose chants expressed a collective pledge to install a BSP government for the fifth time in the state. She stated that this fervor confirms the party’s stronghold on its base, highlighting a significant moment in the political landscape of Uttar Pradesh.
In her address, Mayawati acknowledged the anxiety that such a turnout generates among opposition leaders, emphasizing the drop in composure witnessed after observing the impressive show of strength at the Kanshi Ram Memorial on VIP Road. The BSP leader reminded the public of their shared responsibility to fulfill the vision of Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. She indicated that the community’s commitment to overcoming oppression through votes remains a central narrative of the party’s ethos. “The people of the Bahujan Samaj have shown the entire country how committed they are to fulfilling Baba Saheb’s dream of turning the oppressed into the ruling class through their votes,” she stated passionately.
Mayawati also urged party workers to stay vigilant against “divisive and deceitful tactics” adopted by political adversaries.
