E-Waste Collection Booth: A Joint Initiative by Central Bureau of Communication and Department of Information & PR Doda

Doda: 29.09.2023: In a remarkable collaboration aimed at fostering environmental sustainability, the Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India Field Office in Doda, today joined hands with the Department of Information & PR Doda, establish an E-Waste Collection Booth. This initiative received an enthusiastic response from the community, underscoring the collective commitment to responsible e-waste disposal.

The E-Waste Collection Booth, remains for two days on 29th & 30th of September 2023 and served as a beacon of eco-consciousness in Doda as a part of ongoing campaign on “Swachta Hi Seva”, offering residents a convenient avenue to dispose of their electronic waste responsibly. With the rapid advancement of technology, the proper disposal of electronic devices has become a pressing concern to mitigate environmental hazards.

The citizens of Doda demonstrated their environmental responsibility by actively participating in this initiative. By depositing their old electronic gadgets at the collection booth, they not only contributed to reducing electronic waste but also set a noteworthy example for the community at large.

To recognize and appreciate the individuals who took a step towards a greener future, certificates of Eco- Responsibility were awarded to those who deposited their e-waste at the booth. This gesture aimed to encourage more people to participate and embrace sustainable practices in disposing of electronic waste.

Sh. Vikram Uppal incharge Central Bureau of Communication, Doda Circle, expressed his gratitude to the people of Doda for their active involvement in the E-Waste Collection Booth initiative. He said, “We are thrilled to see such a positive response from the community. It’s heartening to witness the commitment of our citizens to preserving the environment. 

We hope this initiative inspires others to adopt responsible e-waste disposal practices.”

The Central Bureau of Communication and the Department of Information & PR Doda remain committed to advancing initiatives that promote environmental sustainability and community welfare.
