XIVTH Reasi District Open Fencing Championship 2020-21

Reasi, Bimpal Singh January 18: District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Reasi Sh. Subash Chander and Dr. Prem Singh, Senior Prof. at GDC Reasi inaugurated two-days long XIVth Reasi District Open Fencing Championship-2021 organized by Reasi District Fencing Association (RDFA) in collaboration with District Administration, J&K Sports Council, J&K Amateur Fencing Association, GDC Reasi and District Youth Services & Sports Office, Reasi. The programme begun with the traditional Lightening of Lamp by the special guests of day. Sh. Ajay Kumar General Secretary of Reasi District Fencing Association kick started the event with a welcome note to the guests, participants, media persons and other persons present. Speaking on the inaugural session, Dr. Prem Singh congratulated all the effort making teams which coordinated and organized the event and also briefed the youth about the importance of sports in life. Mr. Subash Chander also congratulated the teams and met with outstanding sports persons of district present for the day. He extended his best wishes and warm appreciation to all the participants. Others present on the occasion includes Vice-President of RDFA Ms Priyanka Parmar, Joint Secretary Mr. Rajinder Kumar, Vikas Sharma General Secretary Badminton Association, Prof. Gopal Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Physical Training Instructor, Gulshan Kumar Executive Member, RDFA etc.
In the Championship about 102 Boys and Girls under age of 12, 14, 17, 20 & Senior drawn from different clubs and institutions of District Reasi are participating. The Participating Clubs and Institutions are Zorawar Fencing Club Reasi, Govt. Degree College Reasi, HSS Boys Reasi, HSS Salal, HSS Panthal, TSN Reasi, Girls HS Katra, Kalka Public School Reasi, Presentation Convent Reasi etc.
The bouts were conducted by the panel of technical committee comprising Mr. Rajan Prashar (International Fencer) Vinod Kumar (Former National Fencer) Anoop Jyoti (Former National Fencer) Ravinder Kumar (National Fencer) and Rohit Panjgotra (National Fencer).
The event is organized under the overall supervision of Mr. Ajay Kumar General Secretary of Reasi District Fencing Association who is also acting as Volunteer coach for Reasi fencers.
