Block Diwas: DDC Reasi listens public issues at Reasi
As a part of the Government’s ambitious and unique program to improve the quality of public services and to redress the grievances of the public particularly of the rural inhabitants; Block Diwas under the Jan Abhiyan Programme have been organized across the district Reasi. The District Development Commissioner Reasi, Indu Kanwal Chib today attended the Block Diwas, proceedings at District Headquarter, and listened to the issues of public importance.
BDC Chairperson; sarpanch; panchs; and Public of Block Pouni, Reasi, and Bhoomag participated in the Block Diwas program.
Several issues of road connectivity; better drinking water supply; and augmentation of the Health Infrastructure in their respective blocks were discussed.
The specific issues which were projected by the PRIs were Road connectivity from Simbal Chowa to Dera Baba, transformer to be given at Chappra mohalla and Pouni, Drinking water problem at Mari A &B,Repair of damaged Hand pumps at Talwara lower, Provision of electricity and water at Panchayat ghar Kothian, Post office service at Bharakh and other issues.
The District Development Commissioner gave a patient hearing to all the issues concerning them. Some of the issues were redressed on the spot, while other issues were forwarded to the concerned department, with strict directions, to resolve the issues or come out with a solution in the next Block Diwas.
While interacting with the Block Development Council Chairpersons, Sarpnchs, Panchs, and the public, the DDC said that the Block Diwas is being organized through the length and breadth of the JKUT, with the sole objective to make more transparent, accountable; public-friendly and responsive administration.
The District Administration Reasi is striving hard to redress the public grievances by organizing Block Diwas at the district headquarter as well as also away from the district headquarters at the doorstep of the public by ensuring the presence of District/Sectoral officers of the line departments so that the grievances are redressed or documented for the redressal.
“This initiative of the Government is contributing immensely to Good Governance”, she said.
BDC chairperson,Parveen Akhter, Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sanjay Badyal,Assistant Commissioner Development, Anirudh Rai, District Social Welfare Officer,Gulshan Sharma,Assistant Director Food Civil Supplies and consumers Affairs,Mohd Sayeed,Chief Education Officer,EXNs of different executing agencies,Officers from Agriculture ,Sericulture,Animal Husbandry,Fisheries ,Tehsildars,BDOs and other officers were present during the Block Diwas.
