Facebook warns it can remove any content that might put it at regulatory or legal risk

The social media platform on Monday started issuing a warning to users about an update to its terms and conditions that will come into force on October 1. The new rules will allow the company to take down any content it thinks could put it at risk of being punished by regulators. Facebook hasn’t given any reason for such but it could be connected to an executive order signed by President Donald Trump earlier in 2020.

“We also can remove or restrict access to your content, services or information if we determine that doing so is reasonably necessary to avoid or mitigate adverse legal or regulatory impacts to Facebook,” the updated wording of Facebook’s terms and conditions reads.
