Arnas: Murder case solved by police, FIR registered under section 302 IPC

Reasi, August 9: It is informed that another murder case is solved by the Police station of Arnas, under the supervision of SSP Reasi Smt Rashmi Wazir JKPS, ASP Reasi Sh Surjeet Kumar,JKPS,SDPO Arnas Dr Satish BhardwajJKPS and swift action by the SHO Arnas Insp. Rajesh Gautam.

On 9th June 2020, an information was received that a dead body of a female namely Sapna devi w/o Sudesh Kumar age 24 years is lying in the agriculture field at Thub Thanol near a tree and her dupatta is hanging with one of the tree branch.

After this, Thanol SI Qasim rushed to the spot and took the dead body into police custody and preserved the scene of crime and thoroughly searched it. Husband of Sapna Devi claimed that she has hanged herself with this tree branch while the height of this branch was only 5 feet and 8 inch.

Then later, post portem of the dead body was conducted at PHC Panassa and an inquest proceeding under section 174 CrPC initiated.

While interrogation, Sudesh Kumar broke down and confessed to have committed the murder by strangulating her neck and further breaking her cervical Vertebrae.
