Pregnant wife Refused money for liquor, man shoots her in front of his son.

The man identified as Deepak Singh fled from the spot after killing his wife, but was later arrested.Scared of the incident, the son of the accused ran away from home and hid in the bushes.

Amid the extended lockdown due to coronavirus pandemic, tipplers are getting it tough to abstain from liquor. In a shocking incident, a man in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh shot his pregnant wife dead after she refused to give him money to buy liquor.

After 42 days of lockdown, the government on May 1 allowed the sale of alcohol in red, green and orange zones with certain restrictions.    

According to a report in Hindi daily Hindustan, the accused killed his 25-year-old wife in front of his 4-year-old son. The man identified as Deepak Singh fled from the spot after killing his wife, but was later arrested. The incident took place in Bhatoli village of Sarpathan area in the district. 

The crime took place when Deepak asked his wife Neha to buy liquor and she refused. Later, a heated argument ensued between the two and Deepak shot his wife with a countrymade pistol. The man shot his wife on the head.  

Scared of the incident, the son of the accused ran away from home and hid in the bushes. Hearing the gunshot, the local residents gathered at the spot and rushed her to the hospital. Senior police officials later reached the spot after local residents alerted the cops.
