Ramban District experienced a tragic incident on the evening of September 23, as two police officers were discovered dead inside a car at Ziarat Morh, located in the Sana area of Batote tehsil. Local officials confirmed the discovery, which took place around 8:30 PM.
According to reports from the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the officers were found unconscious in a Fiat Linea, registration number JK-19/5299. Nearby villagers promptly assisted, transporting them to the District Hospital Ramban, but medical personnel pronounced them dead upon arrival.
The deceased officers have been identified as Head Constable Farid Ahmed (No. 408/Rbn) from Bhatti Ramban, and Selection Grade Constable Muhammad Yaqoob (No. 309/Rbn), a resident of Jatgali Ramban. Both were serving at the District Police Lines in Ramban.
The authorities have retained the bodies for further medical examination and necessary legal procedures. Meanwhile, police officials initiated an investigation to understand the cause of this unfortunate event.
As of now, the circumstances leading to their deaths remain unclear. Police spokespersons are working diligently to gather more information regarding this serious case. Community members await further details, concerned for the safety and wellbeing of those in the police force.
