DYSSO Reasi conducts block-level chess, carrom matches

District Youth Services and Sports Office Reasi today conducted block-level Chess and Carrom tournament in all blocks of the district under the aegis of Deputy Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib. Chief Education Officer, Mushtaq Ahmad was the Chief Guest at the event held at Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium Reasi.

The matches were played between the winners of panchayat level matches held earlier. The winners of today’s matches will compete later this month in district-level matches to be held at Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium Reasi. At Katra, the matches were played at SMVD Sports Stadium while in other blocks, the matches were played at their respective Government High and Higher Secondary Schools.

District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Subash Chander has told that the matches are being organised as per the directions of Director General Youth Services & Sports UT J&K, Dr Salim ur Rehman to identify and nurture talent from all corners, including the remotest panchayats of the district with the funds being provided by the Union Government.

The matches at Reasi were held under the guidance of Zonal Physical Education Officerm, Chitter Lekha; Physical Education Master, Pardeep Nag and Physical Education Teachers, Goutam Kundal, Arun Dev Singh, Anam Khan, Mohd Raiz, Shamim Akhter, Ram Asra and Asha Devi.
