Two Labourers Rescued From Earth Cave-In at J&K Site

Two labourers narrowly escaped death when a mound of earth collapsed at a construction site in Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred at Beri-Pattan, near Sunderbani, while the workers were digging a roadside drain.

Authorities reported that the two labourers found themselves trapped as the ground beneath them gave way unexpectedly. Fellow workers on-site responded quickly, demonstrating remarkable teamwork and courage.

Rescue efforts began immediately, with colleagues employing makeshift tools to dig through the debris. Within minutes, they successfully reached the trapped individuals and managed to extricate them safely from the mound.

Officials praised the rapid response of the fellow labourers, emphasizing that their swift actions likely saved the lives of the two men. “Had they not acted so quickly, the outcome could have been far worse,” an official stated.
