Jammu: A shocking case of alleged police negligence and cover-up has come to light in Jammu’s Sainik Colony, where a Mumbai-based girl lost her life and her younger sister was injured in a spa centre shooting incident.
According to details, on August 21, two men, Naveen Bakshi and Sukhbinder Pal, rushed into JK Medicity Hospital with three women, including the two sisters, Mehjabeen and Fatima Sheikh, who bore serious injuries.The injured claimed they had met with a road accident, but doctors observed wounds resembling those caused by sharp objects. Despite the contradictions, the initial Investigating Officer, PSI Rohit Sharma, left without recording written statements.

Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat took cognizance of the case after receiving intelligence inputs about the alleged cover-up.IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti suspended SHO Channi Himmat Deepak Pathania, Incharge Police Post Sainik Colony Wasim Bhatti, and PSI Rohit Sharma. The case has been transferred to the Crime Branch for further investigation.
Investigators confirmed that nine rounds were fired by unknown assailants at the spa Centre. A magistrate-supervised postmortem was conducted on August 31, with videography and seizure of evidence. Forensic experts, crime photographers, and senior officers have inspected the crime scene and collected material evidence. The Jammu Police have assured that the investigation will be conducted on its merits. The case has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the need for transparency and accountability in law enforcement.
