SRINAGAR, June 6: Following protests over an alleged blasphemous post, Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar has suspended undergraduate classes until Saturday. According to an order issued by the Registrar Academics of GMC Srinagar, classes will remain suspended from June 6 to June 8, 2024.
Protests erupted on Wednesday at GMC Srinagar in response to a blasphemous post made by a non-local medical student. In response, the Medical College administration took swift action, suspending the student involved.
“Immediate cognisance of the matter was taken by the GMC Srinagar administration. Pending enquiry, the concerned individual has been suspended with immediate effect,” a GMC spokesman stated on Wednesday.
