DIG JSK Range chairs Crime/Security Review and Polling Counting Preparedness in District Kathua
Kathua- 27/05/2024:- Dr. Sunil Gupta- IPS, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range) presided over a comprehensive meeting regarding Crime/Security Review and Polling Counting Preparedness at district Kathua. The meeting saw the participation of SSP Kathua, Addl. SP Kathua, Dy SP DAR Kathua, SDPO Border and all SHOs of District Kathua.
During the session, SSP Kathua Sh. Anayat Ali, IPS, briefed the participants about overall current law and order landscape of the district. The DIG JSK Range, in his review, directed all the officers to enhance surveillance through measures such as area domination, strengthening Nakas along with CCTV surveillance.
Instructions were given to increase the installation of CCTV cameras with proper record-keeping to monitor the activities of miscreants. Attendees were encouraged to engage with local communities to facilitate the installation of CCTV cameras, which would improve surveillance capabilities and create safer environments.
All officers were also advised to implement the Beat System in their jurisdiction and were directed to maintain the Beat Books also. They were directed to gear up the beat officers/officials to identify the gangsters, thieves, problem shooters, muscle men, drug addicts, peddlers, etc., and make necessary entries in the records of Police Station. The meeting also discussed various initiatives including Operation SANJEEVANI(NDPS CONTROL), Operation PATHSHALA, Operation KAMDHENU, Operation AVTAR, Operation THIRD EYE & Operation MEGHDOOT. Addressing the issue of drugs, the DIG urged officers to emphasize over the nabbing of criminals, drug peddlers/smugglers, problem shooters and shall be booked under relevant sections of law.
DIG JSK Range Jammu took the stock of security review including Lok Sabha Elections Voting Counting preparedness and also visited the Strong Room at Government Degree College Kathua. He also instructed all officers to take all safety measures and keep the free flow of traffic on National Highway whose progress work is underway.
The meeting concluded with the issuance of necessary directives for implementation of local laws for prevention of crime and on Polling Counting day the violators if any be dealt with heavy hands.
