Jammu & Kashmir : In a proactive response to suspected drone activity from Pakistan, the Border Security Force (BSF) successfully intercepted a drone near the village of Tindi Wala in Punjab’s Ferozepur District on Monday. Following established protocols, BSF troops promptly thwarted the attempt, which is believed to be associated with drug smuggling activities.
This incident adds to the series of drone interceptions by BSF along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab, frequently linked to drug smuggling operations. Notably, just a day before, on Sunday, a China-made quadcopter drone was recovered by BSF in Punjab’s Amritsar, specifically in the Bharopal village.
BSF, responsible for safeguarding the extensive 3,323 km India-Pakistan border spanning Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, and the Union Territory of Ladakh, highlighted the continuous challenges posed by smugglers attempting to use drones for illicit activities.
In a parallel development on the same Sunday, a collaborative effort between BSF and Punjab Police led to the recovery of another drone in the Nesta village of Punjab’s Amritsar. According to BSF reports, the recovered China-made Quadcopter was found on the outskirts of Nesta village, further underscoring the persistent attempts to exploit drone technology for illegal purposes.
