74th Amendment will be implemented soon : Chander Mohan Gupta || Watch Video

Jammu, July 17: As per sources, the good news is 74th Amendment can be implemented by the ending of this month or before 15 August. It’s been one and half year since Jammu Municipal Cooperation working for application of 74th Amendment.

When asked, Chander Mohan Gupta said “Implication of 74th Amendment was the constant demand of Jammu Municipal Cooperation. They had discussed this issue with a lot of people including former Governor Satpal Malik and also with Amit Shah. And they will be highly obliged if their demand gets fulfilled.”

Earlier, Article 370 was given as the reason for not adopting 74th Amendment. They also said it was only 4 times that the local elections held in Jammu whereas in rest of India, local elections were conducted 14 times. It was Prime Minister Narender Modi who was responsible for even 4 times conduction of local representative elections otherwise it would not have held.

Also there are 18 departments that will come under Jammu Municipal Cooperation if 74th Amendment implies. They want a proper system for the working of the departments and also demanded respect for the members of Jammu Municipal Cooperation. Some departments are still working as if J&K is a state, they need to change the working style as its now Union Territory, they added.
