Tarun Chugh Criticizes Farooq Abdullah Over Operation Sindoor Remarks
BJP’s Tarun Chugh slams Farooq Abdullah for denigrating Operation Sindoor, highlighting the sacrifices of security forces in the fight against terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir.

BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh rebuked National Conference (NC) president Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Monday for comments that undermine the significance of Operation Sindoor and the crucial role played by security forces. Chugh’s remarks came in response to Abdullah’s assertion that the operation “did not achieve anything,” which he called “shameful.”
Chugh stated, “It is astonishing that the Abdullah family fails to respect the sacrifices made by our Armed Forces.” This sentiment arose following a deadly terror incident in Pahalgam, where Pakistan-sponsored terrorists killed 26 civilians. The BJP leader underscored that security forces had successfully destroyed multiple terrorist training camps across the border.
Moreover, Chugh highlighted that Operation Sindoor is ongoing, pointing to recent events such as the blast at Nowgam Police Station as evidence of the continuous threats faced by security personnel. He remarked, “The bravery demonstrated by our forces is a testament to their commitment towards national security.”
In a pointed critique, Chugh accused the Abdullahs and the Muftis of perpetuating narratives that benefit Pakistan and its intelligence agency ISI, despite their longstanding political influence in India. He condemned Abdullah’s comments at a time when Jammu and Kashmir Police, alongside intelligence agencies, had thwarted a major terror plot described as one of the “biggest conspiracies” in recent memory.
Chugh directed a direct challenge at Abdullah, questioning whether he intended to sympathize with individuals involved in stockpiling 2,900 kilograms of explosives, which, had it not been intercepted, could have resulted in a catastrophic loss of innocent lives.
He elaborated on the recent Nowgam Police Station incident, where nine police and revenue personnel lost their lives while managing the seized explosives. Chugh called the tragedy “heartbreaking for the entire nation,” emphasizing the importance of acknowledging the sacrifices made by security forces.
Accusing Abdullah of minimizing the achievements of the security forces, Chugh claimed that the NC leader’s comments echo sentiments traditionally associated with Pakistan, undermining the bravery exhibited by those who protect the nation. He expressed concern over Abdullah’s failure to honor the martyrs and claimed that such remarks serve only to promote Pakistan’s agenda.
Furthermore, Chugh elaborated that Abdullah’s behavior exposes the so-called ‘Gupkar Gang’ and questioned whether the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi support such stances while running their “Mohabbat Ki Dukaan” political campaign. The BJP leader urged a reevaluation of the narratives propagated by political figures against the backdrop of such serious national security issues.
In an era where security forces stand at the forefront of battling terrorism, Chugh’s remarks serve as a reminder of the responsibility that political leaders carry in acknowledging the sacrifices and hardships faced by those who protect the country. As Operation Sindoor progresses, the resilience of Indian security forces remains unwavering, ready to confront any challenges that emerge.
