MLA Randhawa, Commissioner JMC take stock of developmental activities in Gandhi Nagar JAMMU

Member Legislative Assembly Vikram Randhawa, accompanied by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav, conducted an extensive tour of Gandhi Nagar, Jammu South, to evaluate ongoing developmental works and public amenities in the area.

The visit focused on reviewing various projects under the Jammu Smart City Limited (JSCL) initiative. Among the key highlights was the inspection of a major drainage system being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.5 crore, spanning from Swarn Theatre to Last More Gandhi Nagar Road.

This critical project, part of the Locality Infrastructure Development plan, is designed to resolve persistent drainage issues in the area and enhance the overall infrastructure.

During the inspection, both the MLA and the Commissioner emphasized the importance of maintaining quality standards in construction. They issued strict instructions to the executing agency to ensure timely completion of the project, with minimal disruption to the local populace.

“The project should be completed within the stipulated timeline without compromising on quality. Addressing public grievances and enhancing infrastructure is our top priority,” stated MLA Randhawa.

Residents of Gandhi Nagar appreciated the efforts of the administration in addressing long-standing issues and looked forward to the successful completion of the project.

The inspection reflects the administration’s commitment to improving urban infrastructure and meeting the aspirations of the people under the Smart City Mission.
