Jammu – Gaurav Gupta, former General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has lauded the Administrative Council of Jammu & Kashmir for its progressive move to revise the policy regarding lands classified as Gair Mumkin Khads. The revised policy, approved by Lieutenant Governor Sh. Manoj Sinha, is set to significantly impact land utilization and economic development in the region.

In a statement issued today, Gupta expressed his approval of the decision, describing it as a major milestone for landowners and farmers affected by the outdated classification. “The revised policy represents a crucial step forward in addressing the challenges faced by those with lands recorded as Gair Mumkin Khads. This new approach will offer much-needed clarity and enable the effective use of these lands, thereby contributing to the economic advancement of Jammu & Kashmir,” Gupta said.

He commended the efforts of key officials involved in this initiative, including Advisor RR Bhatnagar, Principal Secretary to LG Mandeep Bhandari, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, and Secretary Revenue Rajeev Ranjan. Gupta acknowledged their dedication and prompt action in resolving this issue. “The collaborative efforts of these officials have led to a balanced policy that addresses both developmental needs and the concerns of the local population,” he added.
