One terrorist and a CRPF trooper were killed, and five soldiers and an SPO were injured on Wednesday in two separate encounters in Jammu & Kashmir’s Jammu division.

Officials reported that one terrorist was killed on Tuesday in a gunfight with security forces in Seda Sohal village of the Hiranagar area in Kathua district. The CRPF trooper, identified as constable Kabir Dass of the 121 battalion, succumbed to critical injuries sustained during the encounter.

“CRPF trooper Kabir Dass, injured in yesterday’s encounter with terrorists in Seda Sohal village, has succumbed to his injuries in the hospital today,” officials confirmed. “Searches are ongoing in Seda Sohal village to trace the remaining terrorist. The terrorists entered the village yesterday, demanding water and a vehicle from the villagers. After receiving the information, police cordoned off the village and engaged the terrorists in sustained gunfire. One terrorist was killed yesterday, and the other is being traced during the searches. A civilian also suffered a gunshot injury from terrorist fire in the village,” officials added.

In another encounter, terrorists fired at a joint ‘Naka’ (checkpost) of the Army and police in the Chattargalla area of Doda district around 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday. The initial firing injured five Army soldiers and one SPO of the police. The terrorists were subsequently engaged in sustained gunfire by security forces.

Officials reported that firing exchanges have ceased in the area, and searches are now underway.

These incidents follow the Reasi terrorist attack on Sunday, marking the second and third terrorist attacks in the Jammu division over the past three days.
