Srinagar, May 25 : The Meteorological Department in Srinagar has forecasted stable weather conditions in Jammu and Kashmir until the end of May, with no significant weather events anticipated. While the department expects generally dry weather until May 28, there remains a possibility of isolated thundershowers in certain areas during this period.
From May 29-31, partly to generally cloudy weather is expected, accompanied by light rain or thunder in isolated places during the afternoon. However, overall, the forecast suggests that no noteworthy weather activity is anticipated until May 31.
Despite the stable weather outlook, the department continues to warn against the persistence of a heatwave over the plains of Jammu Division, coupled with hot and dry conditions in Kashmir Division and hilly districts of Jammu Division over the next four days. They advise residents to take precautions against heat exposure and stay hydrated by consuming plenty of fluids and water.
Meanwhile, night temperatures across the region have remained above normal, with Srinagar recording a low of 13.8°C. Other areas, including Qazigund, Pahalgam, Kokernag, Kupwara, Gulmarg, and Jammu, also reported temperatures above their respective normal ranges.
The weather office’s observations highlight the ongoing heatwave conditions in certain areas and emphasize the importance of staying cautious amidst the prevailing weather patterns.
