Litton Das, despite facing challenges in scoring runs for Bangladesh in white-ball cricket, remains optimistic that adopting a “carefree attitude” will help him regain form in the upcoming T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA next month. Das was excluded from the final two T20Is against Zimbabwe after a series of low scores, including 1, 23, and 12 in the initial three matches of the five-game series. While he has struggled in limited-overs cricket recently, being part of the 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup has bolstered his determination to overcome this lean phase on the global stage.
Speaking on BCB’s official Facebook page, Das emphasized the importance of maintaining composure during challenging times and not overthinking. He highlighted the significance of consistent hard work and support from mentors and family, especially during testing periods. Additionally, Das stressed the need to carry forward momentum from good performances, citing the example of Towhid Hridoy’s recent success as inspiration.
Acknowledging his own underwhelming performances in recent ICC events, Das expressed confidence in Bangladesh’s improved T20 side since the last World Cup. He emphasized the team’s balanced approach and the importance of playing fearless cricket while remaining composed under pressure. Reflecting on past World Cups, Das noted the team’s mixed results and his personal aspirations to deliver better performances in the upcoming tournament. Despite not meeting expectations in previous editions, Das remains determined to contribute positively to Bangladesh’s campaign in the T20 World Cup, aiming to surpass past achievements and make meaningful contributions to the team’s success.
