On this occasion Durga mandir committee Subhash Nagar Jammu President ML Verma said that the discussion of Sanskrit or culture is incomplete without mentioning the name of Mahant Rohit Shastri, who is devoted to Sanskrit language and Indian culture in this twenty-first century. J&k, the only state in the whole world where Devvani Sanskrit has been used for the longest time in the past, not only as a language of reading but also as a contact language. The land of Jammu and Kashmir has been the eternal center of Shaivism, Acharya Abhinavagupta, Mahakavi Kalhana and Mahakavi Bilhan etc. All the Acharyas who have paved the way for uniting not only in India, but the whole world with the tenacity of their deeds. But from the second half of the twentieth century, the conditions for Sanskrit in the Jammu and Kashmir became worsen. However, in such odd conditions and unfavorable environment for the Sanskrit and for the preservation of culture, Mahant Rohit Shastri remains always on forefront
On this occasion Prabhat Singh working President Sanatan Dharam Sabha Jammu said Mahant Rohit Shastri, whenever there is a conflict in the field of rituals and astrology, he plays an important role as a leading judge. He is known for his specific contributions in the field, and never get distracted in his work in Vedic worship, rituals etc.
Mahant Rohit Shastri is promoting Devvani Sanskrit in his state consistently for so many years He has written many books and many of his articles have been published in magazines. He publishes and edits ‘Kailakh Sandesh Panchang Calendar’ every year and distributes it free of cost. Mahant Rohit Shastri has played a special role in the upliftment of the society by doing an important work of taking Sanskrit language and Indian culture to people. He has been honored by his Excellency the Governor, Hon’ble Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha members and eminent public representatives for his unprecedented contributions in various social and cultural works.Whenever we talk about the contribution of youth in the efforts being made for Devvani Sanskrit in Jammu and Kashmir, then one name comes in front of us in the most powerful form and that name is young Sanskritist of Jammu, dedicated to the promotion of Devvani Sanskrit, Jyotishacharya Mahant Rohit Shastri.
