Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra camps organised at Janipur Sabzi Mandi and Old Bus Stand in Jammu city

JAMMU, December 06:  Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) camps were held in Janipur Sabzi Mandi and Old Bus Stand in Jammu today. It a nationwide outreach initiative aimed at informing and empowering citizens about the Central Government’s flagship schemes and programmes. The goal of the Yatra is to raise awareness and facilitate the delivery of welfare schemes benefits. 

As part of the events today, various departments and agencies set up stalls at the two venues for providing on spot services, and held awareness camps for beneficiaries. Today, scores of people benefited from services like free health check up and medicines for several diseases . A large number of people also benefited from on-the-spot facility to get either new aadhaar cards issued or existing ones updated.. 

Under the campaign, the specially designed IEC (Information, Education, Communication) van created awareness about various  schemes and initiatives of the Government of India for the benefit of citizens, especially in Jammu and Kashmir. On the occasion, Viksit Bharat Sankalp  pledge to make India a  developed and self-reliant nation by the year 2047 was administered to the participants. 

Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra  focuses on reaching the vulnerable population, disseminating information, learning from citizens and enrolling potential beneficiaries. The yatra was launched by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi on November 15, 2023. Its aim is to cover over 2.55 lakh Gram Panchayats and over 3,600 urban local bodies by January 25, 2024, touching every district of the country.
