Azad visits Bhaderwah, met with fire affected families, Demand 50 Lacs compensation

Bhaderwah: To access the ground situation after massive fire blaze in Bhaderwah, DPAP cheif Ghulam Nabi Azad visited Bhaderwah and met with fire victim families on Friday afternoon.
Former Chief Minister And DPAP Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad along with Vice President DPAP Ghulam Mohd Saroori, former Minister Abdul Majeed Wani, Cheif Spokesperson Salman Nizami, Sr Leader Javed Azad, Ashraf Goni, Block President Arif Najar and others today visited the fire incident site in Bhaderwah and met with the affected families.
It is notable that eight residential houses, some shops and a food point were gutted in a devastating fire in the area on Thursday wee hours. Fortunately, due to active efforts of locals, Administration and Army, loss to life was prevented. Two persons sustain burn injuries in the incident.
While speaking to affected families, Azad also inquired about the cause of the blaze.
After taking firsthand appraisal and assessment of the damages caused by the devastating fire incident, he asked the party office bearers of DPAP Bhaderwah to met with all affected families and provide detailed report on the cause of devastating fire and estimated damage of each family.
While talking with all family members, Azad expressed sympathy with them and appealed LG Administration for a thorough inquiry into the incident.
He also expressed resentment over the callous attitude of Fire Tenders, who reached at the spot without water and with damaged/non-functional equipments, which leads to a devastating fire incident involving property worth crores.
“Even fire tenders were without petrol for pumps and petrol were taken from motorcycles to start water pumps, “Azad added.
He said that LG Manoj Sinha should ask other administrators across UT to take lesson from Bhaderwah and conduct mock drills of Fire and Emergency Services for handling the equipments properly to avoid such incidents.
He also requested LG Administration to provide minimum 50 lacs compensation to each fire victim family as the houses multi-storied.
He appealed LG Manoj Sinha to provide every kind of support for the immediate rehabilitation of Fire victims as they are forced to live under open sky or to take shelter at their relatives.
