DGP RR Swain Leads High-Level Joint Security Review Session in Kulgam

Kulgam, November 14: The Director General of Police (DGP) for Jammu and Kashmir, RR Swain, conducted a comprehensive security assessment of Kulgam during his visit to the district. In a high-level meeting involving police, army, and CAPF officers, DGP Swain emphasized the need for an enhanced mechanism to ensure public safety while dealing with elements threatening peace, as stated in a press release by the J-K police on Monday.

During the joint security review session, DGP RR Swain urged the officials to develop more effective strategies to maintain peace and eliminate militancy at its core. Accompanied by ADGP Law & Order (J-K) Vijay Kumar and IGP Kashmir Zone VK Birdi, DGP Swain stressed the importance of people-friendly policing and the crucial role of the public in the prevailing scenario.

The meeting, attended by various high-ranking officials, including ADG CRPF Nalin Prabhat, GoC Victor Force Major General Balbir Singh, and others, aimed to discuss measures to strengthen the security setup in Kulgam. DGP Swain highlighted the necessity of sharing intelligence inputs among stakeholders at different levels to enhance the overall security apparatus.

Expressing concern over external attempts to disturb peace in Jammu and Kashmir, DGP Swain condemned cowardly attacks on civilians and forces, attributing them to the desperation of terror handlers. He directed officers to maintain vigilance, continue actions against terrorists and their sympathizers, and keep suspicious elements under surveillance.

Emphasizing the cooperation between police, other security forces, and the public, DGP RR Swain commended the commendable role of the people in preserving peace. He urged officers to strengthen security grids in their respective areas, particularly for the safety of vulnerable sections. The DGP stressed the importance of collaboration to defeat those seeking to disrupt peace, emphasizing close synergy between police and other forces for a peaceful environment, according to the official statement.
