Kupwara, Sep 08 : The finals of the Kupwara Women’s Volleyball Championship 23 season I organised by Indian Army was held at Hirri ground today in Kupwara.
This was the First edition of the championship which was started on 29 Aug 2023 with an aim to give the young girls of Kupwara a chance to showcase their talent in the field of Volleyball. The championship began on 29 Aug 2023 in which 9 teams from various schools and sports academies across Kupwara participated. The teams comprised of girls between the age group of 14 to 25.
The final was witnessed by school children and other participating teams along with locals supporting their favourite teams and media personnel. Well known dignitaries & senior army officers graced the occasion and distributed prizes to the achievers.
The final was played between WCC Kupwara and AGS Wayne. WCC Kupwara played brilliantly and lifted the trophy for the championship. Woman of the match was Dar Nusrat Of WCC Kupwara and Player of the series was awarded to Mehwish Habib of AGS Wayne for her brillent performance. The winners were awarded the certificates, trophies and prizes by Senior officials from Army. The participants thanked Indian Army for providing the girls this opportunity to showcase their talent.
