Uri, AUG 7 : A dental camp was organised in Salamabad village of Uri district in the AoR of Bajrang Battalion under the ageis of 12 Inf Bde. The camp was organised in Govt hospital Salamabad in association with the Ahemdabad based NGO “Seva Bharti”.
This three days dental camp marked a significant milestone, as it was the first of its kind to be held in such remote areas where access to basic amenities like healthcare, education, and food is limited. The camp witnessed the participation of a specialist dentist Dr Pratibha Athavale from Ahemdabad, who provided their services under the auspices of the Ahmedabad based NGO “Seva Bharti” . More than 200 individuals, including women, elderly people, and children, received treatment from the medical team.
The joint efforts of the Indian Army and civilian doctors ensured that all patients received free dental check-ups and consultations. This initiative reflects the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people. It aims to alleviate the hardships faced by those living in remote parts of Uri, such as Salamabad village, where access to healthcare has always been a challenge. The local residents of Salamabad and neighbouring villages expressed their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the Indian Army for organizing this dental camp, which brought much-needed relief to their community. The event showcased the Indian Army’s policy of providing a healing touch and demonstrated the unity of “Awam” (people) and “Jawan” (soldiers) in tackling challenges together.
In addition, this initiative aligns with the theme G20 theme for this year which focuses on promoting inclusive growth and sustainable development. By organizing the dental camp in remote areas and ensuring access to healthcare for the underprivileged, the Indian Army exemplifies the spirit of inclusivity and demonstrates its commitment to the well-being of all sections of society.
The successful execution of dental camp in Uri district has not only provided much-needed medical assistance to the local residents but has also showcased the Indian Army’s dedication to the welfare of the people.
