Avinash Choudhary Chairman of BWO, met officials of Electricity Department, demanded to waive off the electricity bills of the farmers

Ramgarh: Social activist and Chairman of Border Welfare Organization Avinash Choudhary met Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Ashok Dubey, Assistant Engineer (AE) Sachin Tiku in the Electricity Department located in sub-sector Ramgarh. Avinash Choudhary first welcomed them and congratulated them on taking charge after being transferred to sub-division Ramgarh. Avinash Choudhary also apprised the officers about the problems of the area. He told that at this time the humid heat has made life difficult. In such a situation, unscheduled power cuts are causing a lot of torture. He said that in most of the border areas of Ramgarh, there is a similar power cuts for the last four months, for which people are also protesting, but the redressal is not visible. Avinash told that on the one hand, the indifference of the weather has become a cause of trouble for the farmers, while on the other hand, the electricity department is not seen trying to solve the problems of the farmers. At present, farmers are facing the problem of electricity and water to plant their paddy crops. Due to irregular power cuts, the fields are not being irrigated by pump sets for which people meet the top officials from time to time and demand power supply but no hearing takes place. At this time it is time to water the crops, so electricity should be supplied. While appealing to the officers, Avinash asked them to spread awareness about the Amnesty scheme being run by the department. He said that there are still many villages in Ramgarh area where people do not have awareness about this scheme. People are not able to trust the department, so the department should organize awareness camps in every village and make people aware to take advantage of this scheme. On the other hand, Avinash told the officers about the border panchayats of Ramgarh, including Keso Panchayat, Lagwal Panchayat, Rangur Panchayat, Nanga Panchayat and Khanpur Panchayat and said that the land of the people of these panchayats are in front of the security fencing. Pump sets were installed in their lands there, but due to the flood that occurred about seven years ago, all the land including pump sets was washed away in the flood, which has not been inhabited till date, but till date those farmers are being sent bills of pump sets with interest, which is unacceptable. Farmers who have lost their lands and pump sets due to floods are being harassed by sending bills. Therefore, the Border Welfare Organization demands that all the old bills of the farmers of the border panchayats be waived off. Avinash Choudhary said that we hope that the newly transferred officials of the Electricity Department will try to solve the problems of the common people by presenting all these problems before their higher officials.
