INDIAN ARMY ORGANISED NUKKAD NATAK ON DRUG DE-ADDICTION AWARENESS TO CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE IN KUPWARA

Kupwara 26 Jun : In continuation of its efforts to spread awareness among youth and keep them away from drugs Indian Army’s Kupwara Terriers conducted a series of ‘ nukkad nataks ‘ on drug de-addiction awareness at multiple places at remote district Kupwara J&K (UT) on 26 Jun 23.

Nukkad Natak were conducted at Govt Degree College Kupwara, KPS Kupwara and Boys High School Kupwara to make the youth of Kupwara aware about the ill effects of drugs which have become a chronic one in nowadays. In a similar programme debate cum awareness lectures were conducted at Al-huda International Public School Hayen Kupwara where students and principal of the school delivered awareness lecture about the drug menace.

The aim of this mega programme was to make aware youth of Kupwara of drug abuse as being close to line of control the district becomes more vulnerable to use of drugs.

The students of different Schools and colleges in Kupwara arranged youth awareness of drug abuse and how to take care of themselves and not to waste money as well as their precious time in spoiling their lives by using these drugs.

The participants also gave a message to the parents and guardians to keep a close eye on the activities of their children.

This was the first programme of its kind in Kupwara where awareness about drug addiction among youngsters was spread through Nukkad Natak. The young generation of Kupwara Dist is getting attracted to drugs these days. Our motto behind the ‘nukkad natak’ was to aware the people of the drug abuse and its consequences.

The Programme saw an active participation of about 100 students from 10 different schools of Kupwara including GDC Kupwara wherein Students as well as Principal along with Army Officers from Indian Army’s Kupwara Terriers delivered awareness lectures among the students. Drugs can destroy people, families and even nations. Parents are responsible for all these addictions as they don’t give proper attention to their children. Parents should not give them extra money and keep an eye on their activities. Mr Mohd Shafi Principal GDC Kupwara said in his speech.

All participants, staff members, Students and local residents, appreciated Indian Army’s Kupwara Terriers for taking such an appreciable step and they hope more such programmes be conducted in the District to aware people of drug addiction.

Indian Army is committed to keep youth of Kashmir aware and engaged in constructive activities to keep them away from Drugs menace.
