9th June: Amritsar Group of Colleges (AGC), Amritsar today organized the Press Conference at Press Club, Jammu to start with its Admission Session 2023-2024. Dr. Gaurav Tejpal, Dean Campus Relations represented the Institute during the conference.
Briefing on the occasion, Dr. Gaurav Tejpal, said the objective of this conference is to start with the Admission Session 2023-2024. Adding further, he said that the Institute has always supported and favoured the students from J&K because of their extra ordinary calibre to excel and succeed. He said that the Institute prides itself in sharing that till date 662+ students from J&K have taken admission in various courses of the college. Guiding about various scholarships schemes he further added that keeping in view today’s scenario AGC had offered a special fee structure for students of J&K which has proved to be helpful for both parents and students. Continuing the legacy, the Institute will keep on offering the scholarships to the students who wish to seek admission in the session 2023-2024.
Also, the students belonging to SC/ST Category who wish to take admissions in Amritsar Group of Colleges can register themselves through the J & K Social Welfare Department. The Institute has already started accepting the applications from them. College also provides scholarships to meritorious students and accepts applications through AICTE-PMSSS, AICTE Pragati scholarship scheme, AICTE Saksham scholarship scheme and various other scholarships schemes.
Sharing his views about the Institute, Dr. Tejpal said that AGC is accredited by NAAC Grade ‘A’ in the third cycle under the Autonomous category. The institute also boasts itself of being accredited by NBA (twice). AGC has also been conferred with the Autonomous Status by Universities Grant Commission (UGC). He also added that the Amritsar Group of Colleges (AGC) from the past 22 years stands tall as a provider of Quality Higher Education at the National and International Horizon. The group is further approved by the concerned regulatory bodies like AICTE, PCI New Delhi, BCI New Delhi and affiliated to IKG PTU, Kapurthala, PSBTE&IT Chandigarh and GNDU Amritsar. AGC’s reputation is built on its strengths in the fields of Engineering, Management. Fashion Design, Computer Applications, Hotel Management, Pharmacy and Law.
Speaking about Centres of Excellence he added that, the objective of each Centre of Excellence (Robotics & Industrial Automation, Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, Big Data (8th Lab in The World And 2nd In India) is to extend a disciplinary and research-oriented approach to teaching and learning which we believe escalates an innovative attitude in students.
Taking in account today’s market trends AGC has established a separate department for International Collaboration as well. The Department is catering to the needs of the students who are looking for International Internships and further studies abroad. The Department also addresses collaborative programs like (2+2 and 3+1) with the Universities of International Repute. Under this collaboration various services International Internships, Semester Exchange Programs in countries like Canada, Dubai, USA, and Germany have been successfully arranged.
AGC’s slogan Right Place for a Bright Career is self-explanatory for which Amritsar Group of Colleges stands. AGC is gratified to mention that 3958+ students have been placed in more than 282 companies till date. Just to name few students from J&K Tahir Hussain (CE), Akansha Jasrotia (ECE), Rajat Bhatti (CSE), Vikram Singh (MBA) have been Placed in BYJU’s, Wipro, TCS at 8 to 10 Lac per annum packages. To set a new benchmark in terms of placements today, AGC Alumni including students from J&K as well are well settled in companies like Google, Amazon. Infosys, TCS, Adobe, Dell, L&T, BYJU’S, Qatar Airways and many more.
