JAMMU: National Democratic Party Indian (NDPI) J&K UT Chief Rajesh Gupta listened the problems faced by the contractors of Hydraulic wing in Jammu today. Gupta said, according to the contractors they are facing a big problem by not able to participate in e-tendering due to non functional portal sites.
Even after several attempts made by groups representing Jammu contractors to bring the miscommunication and discrepancies in the system to the attention of the authorities, believes that all the efforts have so far been in vain said, Gupta, exasperatedly.
NDPI leader further said that contractors have paid their card renewal yearly fees in advance even then they are facing the same problem. Gupta added the government has been ignoring them after taking the yearly fees. They are a community on the operations of which a government functions. Without them, there would be no one to build and establish all the schools, hospitals, infrastructure that the politicians promise the public. But they have been grossly ignored by the administration.
NDPI president said that one cannot hide behind the smokescreen of ‘anti-corruption’ and delay processes. Issues must be solved on priority. I vouch for the contractors as I know their problems are real.” There are around 10,000 contractors in Hydraulic wing and all are sitting idle since two months. Gupta further added not only this administration is also not serious. Whenever the tender is floated on online portal the server stops functioning. Resulting both parties suffered government exchequer go waste due to repeatedly advertising for tender invitations in newspapers and contractors suffered for not getting work.
Rajesh Gupta appeals LG Manoj Sinha to give instructions to the concerned authorities to sort out the contractors genuine issues on priority and at the earliest.
