May 23 : Senior AAP leader, Mr. Kuldeep Kumar Rao, in a press release issued here has appealed to the Lt. Governor of J&K UT, Sh. Manoj Sinha & Dr. Jatinder Singh, concerned MP & MOS in Prime Minister’s office, to look deep into the matter and issue directions to the concerned to take immediate necessary steps to complete the below mentioned very small projects, on priority bases, so that a population of about 5 Tehsils, comprises of Tehsils, Kahara, Thathri, Phaqsoo, Bhella & Chirrala , is benefited giving an end to the age-old hardships to the people besides the area also comes on tourism maps, again benefiting the whole population of all these Tehsils. Mr. Rao further said that for achieving full advantage of the Tourism development schemes in erstwhile Doda District and for ensuring greater opportunities of employment, the left-over work on some roads needs to be
completed on priority. Mr. Rao said that Kahara Jai road, which is complete up to Joura Kalan & (75% of the total length), needs to be completed from Joura Kalan to Jai (9 kms length). It will not only provide employment to the poor people of the area but also boost tourism. It is one of the links in the circuit network. The 19 Kms sanctioned Thathri-
Chirra road project is complete from its initial point Jangalwar Nallah to Chirra (length 14 Kms) & the remaining 5 Kms from Chirra to Gallu Top be kindly constructed immediately. Further, if Gallu Top is linked to Joura Khurd (2kms only) on Kahara-Joura Khurd road, 90% link between tourist places will be achieved. Still further, if Joura Khurd (road already complete) is linked to Chirala- Panshaee road by only a 5 kms stretch, the circuit of roads will be complete. It will greatly boost tourism and also provide employment to thousands of unemployed people. Mr. Rao has appealed to the Lt. Governor of J&K UT, Sh. Manoj Sinha & Dr. Jatinder Singh, concerned MP that two of the above mentioned Joura Kalan to Jai and Chira to Gallu Top (sanctioned projects) be kindly taken up immediately on priority. Kahara-Jai road is perhaps the longest pending project in erstwhile Doda District & this fact
should be given due consideration. Mr. Rao said that on Suringa Morh-Jai link road (14 Kms), earth cutting work is already complete from Suringa Mor to revenue village Joura Kalan – a distance of 4 Kms (Non forest area) & the work from Joura Kalan to Jai (10 Kms) stands suspended for want of forest clearance. He said that out of these 10 Kms, a stretch of one & half Kms i.e from revenue village Joura Kalan to Revenue village Lower- Shamdlain is tree- less though it falls in forest area; work on this stretch can be executed without any loss to forest & without any legal hindrance even before forest clearance for the whole. He appealed them to accord forest clearance at the earliest and simultaneously issue orders of execution of work on this tree-less stretch of one & half kms from Joura Kalan to Lower Shamdlain, so that justice to the poor inhabitants of the village Lower Shamdlain & ST village Kunthal will be denied. The letter of Indent regarding compensation etc has already been sent to the office of Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B), Jammu by the concerned Executive Engineer PWD (R&B spl. Sub-Division) Gandoh (Bhalessa), No:-
EE/PWD/SSDG/203-05, dated:-19-04-2019, through Superintending Engineer PWD (R&B) Circle Doda, but there is
no action till date.
