GOVERNMENT POLYTECHNIC JAMMU ORGANIZE STANDARD WRITING COMPETITION

Government Polytechnic Jammu today organized standard writing
competition in the institute in collaboration with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
The event was inaugurated by Principal Er. Arun Bangotra who was motivated the
students to participate in various activities conducted in the institute to enhance
their skills. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Coordinator Ms Rhythm, gave brief
introduction about Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), its motive, importance and
implementation. The program was then carried further under BIS guidelines in which
the students has to analyze the products of any kind for their originality, durability
and safety. Students asked various queries about the quality and Standards and had
an open discussion on it. After that Standard writing competition was held in which
47 students participated.

Mentor of Standard club Er. Yogesh Raina, Lecturer Automobile Engg
conducted the proceeding of the program and manage the program efficiently. At
the end, Prizes were distributed among the students by the Principal Er. Arun
Bangotra in presence of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Coordinator Ms Rhythm,
HODs and faculty of this institute. Among the students, Mr. Amit Kumar from
Electrical Engg Deptt. bagged- Ist Prize, Mr. Badal Chouhan Automobile Engg. Deptt.
bagged 2nd Prize, Mr. Nandeep Anthal Mechanical Engg. Deptt. bagged 3rd Prize
and Mr. Uttamveer Singh Automobile Engg. Deptt. bagged the consolation prize.
Finally the vote of thanks was presented by Er. Raj Kumar HOD
Mechanical. Other who were present on the occasion were Er. Inderjeet Singh W/S
Superintendent, Er. Sakshi Kapahi Lecturer I&C, Er. Yogesh Raina Lecturer
Automobile Engg Deptt. (Mentor BIS Club Govt. Polytechnic Jammu), Er. Itika
Sharma Demonstrator Electrical Engg, Er. Manmohan Singh W/S Instructor
Automobile Engg. Deptt. and helping Coordinators Mr. Ashu Saini, Mr. Rajat Kumar
and Mr. Suraj Parkash.
