This is the begining of a BJP-Free India”: Sawhney on Karnataka Polls

Former Minister J&K and senior Congress leader Yogesh Sawhney on Saturday lauded the Congress party for the glorious lead in Karnataka Assembly polls, stating that it was the begining of a “BJP-Mukt Bharat”. The country is moving towards a BJP-free India and it has started from the South already, he said. He congratulated the party leadership and Congress candidates in Karnataka for the majority. The numbers clearly indicate the will of the people, he added. The Congress party had raised important issues and fought the elections on genuine issues of people, and the public was able to recognise that and filter out the lies propagated by the BJP. The BJP will be wiped clean from the polls one by one in each state gradually.

Further speaking on the matter, the former Minister said that the party crossed the majority mark and came out with flying colors because of the dedication and hard work of the leadership and party workers. We were able to touch the hearts of people in Karnataka, he said. The victory reaffirms the electoral foothold of the Congress party across the country and ensures a good begining to expand with same vigor in rest of the country starting first from southern India. Rahul Gandhi Ji’s Bharat Jodo Yatra left a deep impact on the streets of Karnataka. The yatra did raise several key issues that people were facing and offered new hope to the people. Rahul Gandhi Ji’s heartwarming interactions with people from across the state during the yatra touched people greatly. With the kind of majority Congress has achieved, it shows that the people are putting their faith in Congress to lead them to growth, prosperity and a better future, Sawhney said.

He further added that what is clear is that BJP is losing relevance in the South and across the country as it’s true nature gets exposed. Congress emerged as the single-largest party, crossing the majority mark. The issue of “corruption” raised by the party against the ruling BJP turned out decisive in the victory, as people accepted it and gave us a thumping victory. Corruption, unemployment, inflation are rampant in a BJP-lead government and people wanted hope for a future free from those issues. Karnataka voters must be thanked for pouring their love and belief in the Congress party, and they must rest assured that they will not be disappointed. Sawhney said that people have full faith in Congress’ national leadership and Karnataka’s leadership and choosing Congress was the right decision by Karnataka’s people. BJP has accepted their loss in the Karnataka Assembly election. Congress in securing a substantial majority has proved that the party will not stand silently against BJP’s unruly governance and win the support of people by fighting for real issues that affect their lives.

Sawhney stated that this is a start to a BJP free India, and a corruption free India. The exploitation by the BJP has reached its peak and it’s high time that their downfall has also started. With this begining in the South, the shallow success of the BJP in other states will also fade away. Karnataka saw a huge voter turn out indicating that people are eager and excited to welcome a government by the Congress. The “40 percent Commission government” is rejected by the public. Congress will continue to make huge strides electorally across the country, Sawhney said.
