Under the tax awareness initative “KAR-TAVYA,” today on the vee of Mother’s Day, Under the chairmanship of Dr. Rashmi Singh(IAS), Commissioner State Taxes, MS Namrita Dogra (JKAS) Deputy Commissioner state Taxes ( Enforcement -Central) Jammu along with MS Manpreet Kour (JKAS) Assistant Commissioner and State Taxes Offices MS Romi Jamwal, Mr Nitin Verma and MS Chandermohini visited different business premises of Jammu city to ascertain whether goods sold were properly billed or not.
Awareness among shopkeepers and customers was generated to follow billing system. An appeal was made to the general public to vigilant customers so that tax evasion can be curbed.
Queries of the shopkeepers regarding tax regime( GST) were also carefully listened and answered Solved. Moreover, gifts were also distributed to the Customers who were taking goods and proper bills . Mothers day was specifically chosen for awareness as there is saying “If We Educate Mother, We educate whole family . Besides ,shopkeepers were also informed that in case of any confusion regarding GST resign state taxes department has opened “Suvida Kendra” for solving any queries which is located on fourth floor of the state taxes department of panama chowk jammu.
The main objective of the taxes awareness initiative “KAR-TAVYA” is to infuse that message among all the taxpayers that it is the tax revenue which leads to the development of the Nation.
