UDHAMPUR: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President, Jammu, J&K National Conference appointed S. Gurmeet Singh Josh as District President of Minority Cell Udhampur on the recommendations of the District Committee, Udhampur.
Speaking on the occasion, the Provincial President said the party is fighting for safeguarding the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir at various levels and the need of the hour is to strengthen the party ranks to meet the challenges during the ongoing struggle. He asserted that only NC can fulfil the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir with its vision of a vibrant, progressive and united Jammu and Kashmir.
Rattan Lal said that BJP befooled the people with its hollow promises before the elections and the common people today realize that they have been totally betrayed by the saffron party. He said that due to the anti-people policies of the Government, unemployment is at its peak, inflation has gone out of control amid the sky rocketing prices of essential commodities while the claims of unprecedented development stand exposed with the snail’s pace of almost all the works. He asserted that only National Conference can address people’s problems for which the party cadre will have to further strengthen the base of party at grass roots level.
Sunil Verma, District President, Udhampur, JKNC said S. Gurmeet Singh is presently serving the District Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee as District President Udhampur and his appointment as District President Minority Cell will strengthen the party in the district. He hoped that his appointment will reinforce the working of the Party at grass roots level in Udhampur district.
S. Gurmeet Singh, in his address, expressed gratitude to the Party for appointing him as the District President of Party’s Minority Cell and assured that he will work for strengthening the base of the party.
Among others who were present include Capt Pavittar Singh, Ram Krishan, Pt Raju, Ashok Mehra, Annayatullah, Sumita Mehra, Pooja Devi, Abid Shah and Dr Ramesh Verma.
