Worship of Lord Shri Ganesh, Mother Parvati, Lord Shiva and Moon also has special significance on the full moon day. According to the scriptures, no kind of vindictive things should be consumed on this day, celibacy should be followed, alcohol etc. should also be avoided on this day. It can have side effects not only on the body but also on your future, sattvic things are consumed on this day. Bathing at pilgrimage places on this day frees one from the sins of births, bathing in the Ganges also has special significance on this day. This full moon is considered the biggest day for the followers of Buddhism, Buddha Purnima is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Buddha, Buddha Purnima is celebrated every year on the full moon of Vaishakh month. On this day Lord Vishnu took his 9th incarnation, this incarnation is popularly known as Lord Buddha, not only this, Lord Buddha attained salvation on this day, people also celebrate this day as Satya Vinayak Purnima, it is said Fasting with a true heart on this day removes poverty and brings happiness and prosperity in the house. On this day, many people also worship Dharmaraj Guru. It doesn’t happen, Lord Shri Krishna had also told his friend Sudama (Brahmin Sudama) the law of this fast, after which his poverty was removed. On this day fasting should be donated along with pitchers filled with water to any needy person. Gold donation is also considered very important on this day. On this day Lord Vishnu should be worshipped, full moon should be worshiped with lamps, incense, flowers, grains, jaggery etc. at night and water should be offered. After that, a pitcher full of water should be donated to a qualified Brahmin. Food should be taken only after providing food to a Brahmin or a needy person, good deeds done on this day bring merit, birds are freed from cages and released into the open sky, food and clothes are given to the poor. . ‘Om mani padme hum’ Buddhists consider this mantra to be very sacred and powerful, this mantra is specially chanted in the Mahayana branch of Buddhism.
